Electronic Materials Manufacturer chose to subscribe to TriActive's Configuration Management Suite service instead of building out its own management platform in-house, thereby saving time and money in helpdesk calls.

Why running a multinational WAN is no picnic: Europe's privacy laws can be restrictive, so we had to be careful how we implemented TriActive Configuration Management. Our procedure for remotely controlling a desktop is to obtain verbal approval from the end user in Europe, and we have a stated corporate policy that we have the right to monitor and use these tools.

Why his department didn't have configuration management before: There was always a roadblock in hardware, software licensing and consulting costs. And we never had the time it takes to get these things implemented.

Biggest bet: $5 on Powerball.

Best advice: To be sure to use the new cover sheet for my TPS [total project summary] reports.
