Dr. Ryan Ries is the Sr. Director, Data Science & Engineering at Onica, a Rackspace Technology company. Throughout his career, Ryan has played the role of research scientist, systems engineer, program manager, and business developer. He's honed in his expertise in scientific consulting and data analytics, developing augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) models, and advanced imaging products incorporating cutting-edge hardware with custom detection software. Prior to joining Onica, Dr. Ries developed AR headsets for multiple companies. He received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
