Computer Associates International Wednesday said it is joining the Network Admission Control program.
NAC is a Cisco Systems-sponsored industry initiative that attempts to ensure security policy compliance at the network level. The goal of NAC is to bring as many vendors as possible into compliance so that noncompliant devices can be restricted from network access more effectively, according to Cisco, San Jose, Calif.
CA, Islandia, N.Y., has engineered its eTrust PestPatrol Anti-Spyware and eTrust Antivirus products to be NAC-compliant, said Toby Weiss, senior vice president of eTrust security management, in a statement.
The NAC-compliant products will be available from CA in November. They will make CA the first security software vendor to provide both NAC-compliant virus and spyware protection, Weiss said.
"By working closely with Cisco and our other strategic partners, CA is enabling customers to implement enterprisewide security measures that provide this essential automation and intelligence," said Weiss.
