Qwest Targets The Enterprise With VoIP Migration Solution

Qwest Communications has expanded its VoIP offerings with the release of IP Centrex Prime, an IP-enabled interface designed to help enterprise customers with multiple locations and mobile workforces migrate from PBX connections to a VoIP solution.

The product is designed to allow enterprise customers with traditional Centrex or PBX networks to easily migrate to an IP-converged voice and data network, while retaining the call quality, reliability and feature set of a PBX.

IP Centrex Prime retains traditional Centrex features, such as call forwarding, call waiting, and three-way calling, as well as more sophisticated telephony applications used to monitor a company's multiple telephone numbers.

The release comes on the heels of Qwest's launch of its national voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) solution for business customers earlier this year. Qwest currently carries 1.8 billion minutes of VoIP traffic per month over its national IP network.
