The company lowered its forecasts for the total of pay subscribers by Dec. 31. United Online expects to increase the number to between 3.25 million and 3.35 million, which is less than the previous forecast of between 3.3 million and 3.5 million.
Revenues in the December quarter are expected to be between $109 million and $112 million.
In addition, the company on Monday said it had agreed to acquire Classmates Online, based in Renton, Wash. Classmates Online has 175 employees and operates community sites in the U.S., Sweden and Germany.
Classmates' board and shareholders have approved the deal, which is expected to close this year.
