Free has also provided one added advantage. Ever notice the life cycle (or more properly release-cycle) of a Window's product vs. a popular UNIX program. The UNIX community is constantly upgrading, tweaking and releasing interim updates and/or patches to its programs. Why is this not so with Window products?

My answer: dollar saturation of the pipeline.
