Jumping the Gun on 802.11n

Undaunted by the Wi-Fi Alliance's threat, Belkin has released a wireless router based on silicon from Airgo, a leader in the development of MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) radio technology that is expected at the core of the 802.11n standard. However, there are many variations of MIMO, and it's almost certain current MIMO products--as good as they might be--will be incompatible with the standard. Belkin markets its new product as "Pre-N." That may not be a technical violation of Wi-Fi Alliance guidelines, but it will ruffle some feathers.
