Dell Debuts New Low-Priced Latitude Laptop

Dell on Tuesday rolled out a new desktop replacement-style laptop in its Latitude line aimed at small businesses on a budget.
The Latitude 100L, which comes with a price tag starting at $899, can be configured with either a 2.40GHz Intel Celeron or 2.66GHz Mobile Pentium 4 processors, equipped with 14.1- or 15-inch screens, and packed with hard drives in the 20MB to 60GB range.

Weighting over seven pounds, the 100L fits into the desktop replacement category, notebooks that, though mobile, are intended primarily for one-spot use.

Optional wireless capability is available for $29 (802.11b/g) or $49 (802.11a/b/g).

The 100L is available now, and can be ordered in stock or custom configurations from Dell's Web site.
