CyberGuard Packs Content Security Into Appliance

CyberGuard on Thursday shipped a security appliance that packs the Boca Raton, Fla.-based vendor's Webwasher Content Security Management (CSM) Suite into a plug-and-go device for defending against viruses, spam, and unwanted Web content.

The CyberGuard WW1000 Content Security Appliance targets medium-to-large corporations, said Mike Wittig, CyberGuard's president and chief technology officer. The appliance uses the Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP) to interface with the company's new Total Stream Protection (TSP) series of firewall and VPN hardware, and also works with other caching proxy servers that support ICAP.

Pricing for the WW1000 starts at $8,995, which includes a 100-user Webwasher Content Protection.
