BroadSoft and Atreus Team up to Accelerate Voice Over IP Provisioning

With end-user demand for integrated voice and data rising, BroadSoft and Atreus have joined forces to provide service providers with a way to accelerate the activation and provisioning of VoIP services. The two firms unveiled the details of an alliance that integrates BroadSoft's BroadWorks and Atreus' xAuthority offerings. By bringing their technologies together, the companies hope to attract the interest of service providers looking for ways to speed up their ability to offer VoIP services while integrating it with existing voice and data network services. The alliance, according to the companies, achieves this by offering an integrated platform for multiple service types and automating critical steps in the service creation process.

The BroadWorks technology provides a single networking platform from which a range of applications can be supported, including: hosted PBX, IP Centrex, residential broadband, and other collaborative/conferencing technologies. This makes it possible for VoIP services to be added to an infrastructure that already offers existing services.

Atreus' xAuthority solution delivers off-the-shelf dynamic provisioning and activation capabilities, enabling providers to add, offer and then deliver new value-added services as they are loaded on to the BroadWorks platform.

This, say officials, removes several layers of complexity and risk in deploying new revenue-generating offerings to business and residential customers. It also should eliminate several categories of cost, which officials say will contribute to higher levels of profitability.
