AT&T Wins $174 Million IP VPN Contract From Siemens

AT&T has won a $174 million global networking contract to provide Siemens AG with a global IP VPN solution. The four-year contract extends the relationship between the two companies. AT&T already provides Siemens with an 800-plus node network IPV VPN network.

The agreement lasts four years. AT&T will support the Seimens Network eXchange (SNX) network infrastructure with a managed IP VPN solution, based on AT&T's global MPLS platform. AT&T will also provide Siemens with a management framework using AT&T's AT&T BusinessDirect web portal.

"Siemens' key objectives for its infrastructure, namely flexibility, predictable and reliable performance, and cost efficiency, are fully met by AT&T's services," Edmundo Ruiz, Vice-President CIO for Infrastructure at Siemens said in a statement. "The AT&T BusinessDirect portal is allowing our community to interact directly with AT&T for the day-to-day management of the network, enabling our corporate CIO team to perform its governance role with instantaneous access to the information it needs."
