Windows XP Service Pack 2 Beta Nearing Release: Page 2 of 2

Microsoft is working out the kinks in its Windows XP 2 Service Pack, and won't ship the final version until mid-2004 according to Mike Nash, vice president of Microsoft's Security

Other enhancements include improved patch management -- with patches being deployed in as few as two days depending on "risk assessments" said Nash.

"Patches deployed in 21 days are no longer realistic for serious risks," said Rick Devenuti, CIO of Microsoft, Redmond, Wash.
