Server-based news? No...and yes. Some of the discussion revolved arouind the ways in which the Web is evolving computing somewhat away from the client-server model of information transmission. But as you read it, you'll be able to fill in the mental gaps where servers fit into the overall structure, a model where the classic server, the network itself, and your desktop become sort of one.
