Warmenhoven said it's the first of a family of storage systems for what he called the "distributed enterprise environment," and he specifically mentioned that NetApp is not targeting small and medium enterprises at this point.

Roy says NetApp is expecting to win business in large branch offices: "They want to sell 10 to 50 in one batch."
