But Cisco's C-series server at least hints at a more pragmatic vision. Just as it eventually came around with its own NAC appliance and just as the recent Tandberg acquisition helps its telepresence offerings, so it will be in the data center. But this is the incumbent's game to lose. Networking purchases are still dwarfed by server and storage expenditures in the data center. If it's a fight Cisco wants, HP will be happy to provide it.
