  • EMC and StorageTek, which have both been historically product-focused companies, are aggressively moving up the services food chain.
  • While specialized consulting firms such as GlassHouse and Veritas compare unfavorably on the overall SCS Rating, they can prove as valuable as full-service vendors depending on an individual organization's needs.
  • The storage consulting sector is riding the unforgiving broader trend of outsourcing, as fewer corporations develop large internal IT organizations.
